The Sasa Foundation has signed grant agreements with four business projects that are part of the Acceleration Programme “Start your business adventure in Makedonska Kamenica”, aimed at supporting local entrepreneurs to start or further develop their businesses, thereby directly contributing to local economic growth.

The four business ideas selected by an expert committee, which will receive co-financing grants from the Sasa Foundation for a total amount of up to EUR 50,000, are:

  1. “Vila Kalimana Lake View” – a project for the development of a new tourist complex near Lake Kalimanci;
  2. “Fizio aktiv” – a project for the development and provision of organised tours and tourism services using electric bicycles;
  3. “Micro Greens” – a project for the production of organic agricultural crops; and
  4. “Osogovski Plod” – a project for the collection and processing of natural forest products.

The selected business ideas fall within sectors identified as priorities by the community, following previously organised workshops, with high potential for sustainable development, such as tourism and agriculture.

Following the signing of the grant agreements, the implementation phase begins, during which the selected beneficiaries will continue to receive professional support in the growth and development of their businesses.

A total of 18 applicants applied to the open call for business ideas, while 16 business plans were prepared and reviewed in the final selection phase, confirming the strong motivation and development potential of the local business community.

In addition to awarding financial grants to the best business ideas, the Acceleration Programme enabled all participants to gain practical knowledge in business planning and implementation through tailored training and mentoring over a five-week period.

“With this programme, we are not only investing in business ideas, but also in people and in the future of Makedonska Kamenica. Our goal is to support the creation of new sustainable businesses that will generate new jobs and long-term value for the community. This is just the beginning of a broader process of building an entrepreneurial culture and creating new opportunities for young people and for the entire local community,” said the Management Board of the Sasa Foundation.

The Acceleration Programme is part of the initiatives of Sasa Mine, implemented through the Sasa Foundation, aimed at fostering long-term and sustainable local economic development and improving the quality of life in the community.
