The next phase of the programme includes:
- Intensive business training, tailored to support the development of innovative, sustainable ventures.
- One-on-one mentoring sessions with business and industry experts.
- Participation in a business plan competition, with the opportunity to win financial grants of between EUR 5,000 and EUR 20,000
to support your business growth.
We look forward to working with the selected applicants to turn their ideas into impactful, locally rooted businesses which contribute to the sustainable development of Makedonska Kamenica. The business acceleration programme “Start your business adventure in Makedonska Kamenica” is a pilot activity under the project “Sustainable Development for Makedonska Kamenica” aiming to stimulate local economic development in the municipality of Makedonska Kamenica.
The programme includes an intensive training course designed to help individual, newly established companies (startups), and existing micro and small enterprises transform their ideas into successful businesses. The primary objective is to improve the participants’ knowledge and skills, by supporting the creation of sustainable businesses and promoting economic growth in the region.
Upon completion of the training, participants will have the opportunity to attend individual mentoring sessions with experts based on their specific needs, followed by a business plan competition offering participants the chance to compete for a financial support ranging from EUR 5,000 to EUR 20,000. The grant programme will enable individuals, companies, and non-governmental organizations to launch new projects or expand their resources, create new jobs, and accelerate business growth faster than they could with their own resources alone.
The acceleration programme offers complimentary training and mentoring tailored for individuals and entrepreneurs from Makedonska Kamenica. Its primary objective is to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills, thereby facilitating the establishment of sustainable businesses to foster economic growth in the region. Participants will receive comprehensive training in business and financial planning, along with guidance on accessing finance and effective marketing strategies.
The acceleration programme, including the training programme and financing and implementation of the projects, will be implemented from February 2025 till December 2025.
- Individuals and teams
- Micro and small companies (up to 100,000 in annual turnover in the previous fiscal year)
- NGOs – minimum one year of existence prior to applying for grant funding
Priority areas: business ideas in the following areas will have priority.
- Tourism development: active, rural, historical and cultural heritage
- Agriculture development

Eligible project location: The economic activity proposed by the applicants must take place in the Municipality of Makedonska Kamenica and its surrounding area. Municipality of Makedonska Kamenica includes: Todorovci, Lukovica, Kostin Dol, Kosevica, Mostica, Dulica, Sasa, Cera and the town Makedonska Kamenica.
Applicants that successfully complete the acceleration programme and comply with the grant criteria, will qualify for the opportunity to apply for grant financing:
- The total available funding amount in the pilot round is 50,000 Euros.
- The minimum requested amount for financing is 5,000 Euros and the maximum requested amount for financing is 20,000 Euros.
- Mandatory co-financing: 20% of the requested grant
